Listings and average home prices down in Fort Garry and Fort Richmond, but sales up

Listings and average home prices in the Winnipeg neighbourhoods of Fort Garry, East Fort Garry, West Fort Garry, Fort Richmond, Waverley Heights, Wildwood and University Heights were down in 2016, but the number of sales were up.

There were 300 homes sold in Winnipeg MLS areas 1J, 1JW, 1K and 1L in 2016 as compared to 291 homes sold in 2015, even though listings were down from 380 to 355.

The average home price in Fort Garry, East Fort Garry, West Fort Garry, Fort Richmond, Waverley Heights, Wildwood and University Heights also dropped from $327,535 in 2015 to $317,338 in 2016, but it took less time to sell a home in 2016. Average days required to sell a home in Winnipeg MLS areas 1J, 1JW, 1K and 1L was down from 25.25 in 2015 to 20.25 in 2016.

The highest price paid for a home the above neighbourhoods in 2016 was $875,000 for a home on South Drive. The lowest price paid was $150,000 for a home on Radisson Avenue.
